Whitelist people from automations
The whitelist is a per-workspace list of people your automations should leave alone. It's useful for teammates, your own alt accounts, VIPs you'd rather reply to by hand, or anyone you don't want auto-messaged.
Manage it under Manage → Whitelist.
What it does
When someone is on the whitelist, their comments and DMs never start a new automation run. Their messages still arrive and show up in your inbox as normal — big just won't auto-reply to them.
You can suppress each channel independently:
- Skip DMs — don't run DM automations for this person. This covers story-reply automations as well: a reply to your story arrives as a DM, so it's the DM channel that's suppressed.
- Skip comments — don't run comment automations for this person.
Turn on one or both. An automation that's already mid-conversation with someone will finish; the whitelist only stops new runs from starting.
Add someone
- By handle — enter their Instagram
@handlein Manage → Whitelist. - From the inbox — choosing Ignore on a contact also adds them to the whitelist, so automations stop firing for them.
Adding to the whitelist requires an editor role or higher.
