Calendly

Connecting Calendly lets big see the bookings side of your business: the calls people schedule with you. You connect it with a Calendly personal access token.

Calendly tokens are not scoped

Calendly personal access tokens can't be limited to part of your account. A token has the same reach as the Calendly user who created it, so there is no narrower token to create. big says so on the connect screen as well.

What you can control:

  • Which Calendly user creates the token. It reaches what that user can reach, so create it as the user whose bookings you want big to see.
  • Its name. Call it something that says it is for big, so you know which one to delete if you ever disconnect or rotate.
  • What big does with it. big only reads, and a key saved in big can't be read back by anyone. See Integration security.

Create the token

  1. Sign in to Calendly as the user you want to connect.
  2. In Calendly, open Integrations → API and webhooks and choose to generate a new personal access token. Calendly's own help at calendly.com has the current steps if the menu has moved.
  3. Name it, for example "big", and copy it. Calendly shows it only once.

Connect it in big

Open Connect → Integrations → Browse catalog, choose Calendly, paste the token and save. big tests it with one read-only call that asks Calendly who the token belongs to, and shows that Calendly user once it is connected. The full walkthrough, including rotating and disconnecting, is Connect an integration.

When you rotate or disconnect

big can't revoke a Calendly token. After rotating or disconnecting in big, delete the old token in Calendly's API and webhooks settings.
