Whop
Connecting your own Whop account gives big a read-only view of your Whop business: your company, its payments and its members.
This is separate from anything else in big that involves Whop. It has nothing to do with how you pay for your big plan, and it doesn't take payments. It only reads the Whop account you connect.
Connect with Whop
You don't create or paste a key. You sign in with Whop, approve big's read-only access on Whop's own screen, and Whop hands big access to your account.
- Sign in to big as a workspace admin or the owner.
- Open Connect → Integrations → Browse catalog and choose Whop.
- Choose Connect with Whop. big sends you to Whop.
- Sign in to Whop as the account you want to connect, check what big is asking for (below) and approve.
- Whop sends you back to big's confirm screen. Check it, then choose Connect.
If Connect with Whop isn't offered, Whop connections aren't switched on for big yet; nothing in your workspace is wrong.
The confirm screen
Nothing is connected until you confirm. The confirm screen shows:
- The Whop account id as the main line. Check that one: it is the account big will read.
- The account's name, smaller, underneath. Whoever runs a Whop account chooses its name, so trust the id over the name.
- What it replaces, if this workspace already has a Whop integration: the old and the new account ids side by side.
Whop connections carry no LIVE or TEST label; that only applies to Stripe.
Choose Connect to save it, or Cancel to throw it away. Cancelling revokes the access Whop just gave big The screen lasts 15 minutes; after that, start again from Connect with Whop, and big revokes the unused access at Whop on its own.
The confirm step is there so that only the person who started the connection, signed in to big, can attach a Whop account to the workspace. Following someone else's link does nothing.
What big can read
big asks Whop for read-only access and nothing that can change your account:
| Access | Lets big |
|---|---|
| Your Whop sign-in and profile | Know which Whop account approved, and show its name. |
| Company, basic details | Read your company's basic details. |
| Payments, basic details | Read your payments. |
| Members, basic details | Read who your members are. |
Whop shows what big is asking for on its approval screen, and that screen is the source of truth: if the two ever differ, believe Whop and tell us. If Whop ever hands big more access than this list, big refuses the connection, gives that access back to Whop, and saves nothing.
Reconnect
When Whop stops accepting big's access, for example because you removed big from your authorized apps in Whop, the integration shows Reconnect needed and your admins get a notification and an email. Choose Reconnect with Whop on the integration's page and approve again. Reconnecting the same Whop account brings the same integration back. Approving a different account replaces an integration that shows Reconnect needed, after you confirm, without taking another slot on your plan. To swap a working integration for a different account, disconnect it first.
One Whop account can be connected to one big workspace at a time. If another workspace already holds it, connecting is refused, and that workspace's admins are told someone tried. If the other workspace's access is dead, your confirm frees the account and connects it to you.
Disconnect revokes big at Whop
Disconnect in big does two things:
- It revokes big's access at Whop. big asks Whop to cancel the access it holds, and the integration's page says Access revoked at Whop when Whop confirms.
- It deletes big's copy of that access from big's live database immediately. It leaves big's backups when they expire. See Integration security.
If Whop can't be reached at that moment, big still deletes its copy, and the page tells you to remove big from your authorized apps in Whop yourself. You can do that at any time, connected or not; big notices the next time it tries to read your account and shows the integration as Reconnect needed.
