What each one does.

big compared with Linktree. Claims about Linktree were checked 29 September 2026 and each cites its source below.
FeaturebigLinktree
Public link in bio pageYes. big hosts a public link in bio page at https://itsjustbig.com/t/<handle>, built from link, form, socials, media and header blocks.Yes. Signing up creates a public page at linktr.ee/ plus a username the creator chooses, then prompts for the first links and a theme.source 3
Page design controlYes. A bio page starts from a preset and every part of it stays editable: accent color, font, button shape and fill, avatar shape, and a background that can be a color, an image, a gif or a looping video, with an optional separate background for phone screens.Partly. Themes or a custom appearance with background, button shape, button and font colors, and fonts. Free users can set a background color; uploading an image or video background is on Pro and above.source 4
Click tracking on the links on the pageYes. Every link on a big bio page is a workspace short link, so its clicks are counted per button, and editing where a button points keeps the same code and its click history.Yes. Each link has its own insights, opened from the chart icon under it, covering referrers, locations, devices and more. A custom date range of up to 365 days is on Starter, Pro and Premium.source 5
Page and link analytics in the dashboardYes. A bio page reports its page views, the clicks on each link button and the views of each form on it, with bot traffic excluded from the counts.Yes. Total and unique views, total and unique clicks, click rate, subscribers and traffic sources. History: last 28 days on Free, 90 on Starter, 365 on Pro, full lifetime on Premium. Filters, most clicked links and visitor details are on Pro and Premium; CSV export of insights is on Premium.source 6
Lead capture form on the pageYes. A form block puts one of the workspace's own branching forms on the bio page, and an answer carrying an email or an Instagram handle becomes a contact record in that workspace.Yes. A Contact Form link with questions the creator sets collects sign-ups on the page. Submissions can be exported as CSV; automatic sync to Mailchimp or Google Sheets is on Pro and Premium.source 7
Who owns the contact the page capturesYes. Contacts captured through big belong to the creator, not to big Followers belong to the platform; the contact list does not.Yes. The Privacy Notice states that when a visitor shares information with a Linktree User, Linktree acts as a processor and facilitates it "on behalf of the Linktree User and based on their instructions".source 8
Automation that sends people to the pageYes. big runs Instagram DM automations, branching forms and trackable short links as one platform, and each hands off to the next: a comment becomes an auto-DM, the DM carries a tracked link, the link opens a form, the form fills a contact record.Yes. Instagram auto-reply sends a DM with a link when someone comments on a post or Reel; the link can open the Linktree with that link highlighted. Monthly DM limits: 1,000 on Free, 1,500 on Starter, 2,500 on Pro, unlimited on Premium. All-posts and next-post triggers are on Pro and Premium.source 9
File storage for page images and videoYes. 250 MiB to 100 GiB of file storage, depending on plan.Partly. Uploaded image and video backgrounds are on Pro and Premium, with a limit of 10MB per image and 50MB per video. No overall storage allowance is stated.source 10
Programmatic access (CLI and MCP)Partly. CLI and MCP access on tiny, big and bigger, not on teeny.Partly. The Privacy Notice says an account can be connected to an AI application or agent such as ChatGPT or Claude, which, depending on the features enabled, can create and update links, change the profile and retrieve analytics. No CLI, and no setup guide for that connection, appears on the pages captured.source 8
Channels automatedNo. big automates Instagram only. It does not send on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, SMS or email.Yes. Plann by Linktree, opened from the Social Planner tab, auto-posts and cross-posts to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and YouTube Shorts. The comment-to-DM auto-reply is documented for Instagram.source 11
Removing the platform badge from the pageNo. Every big bio page carries a sticky "made with big" badge, and no plan removes it.Partly. On Pro and Premium a toggle hides the Linktree footer from the page, and a separate setting hides the Linktree logo from the page's QR code. The article lists the feature for Pro and Premium only.source 12
Serving the page on a domain you ownNo. A big bio page is served at https://itsjustbig.com/t/<handle>. big does not serve it on a domain the creator owns.No. The help center states: "We don't offer the option to use a custom domain to replace the linktr.ee URL." The username part of the URL can be changed, and a Redirect link can send visitors to the creator's own site.source 13
Selling a product or taking payment on the pageNo. big does not sell products, take payments or host a checkout for the creator. A bio page can link to a store somewhere else, and that is all.Yes. Digital products and courses sell from the page through Stripe checkout, priced from $1.00 to $10,000 USD, in the 35 countries the guide lists. Linktree takes a fee that depends on the plan, and Stripe charges a processing fee.source 14

who each is for

Pick the one that fits.

These are not close calls. If you are in the right-hand column, the other product is the better buy and we would rather you knew now.

Built for big

  • Creators whose traffic starts in an Instagram comment or DM, and who want the reply to lead on to a form and a contact record rather than stop at a link.
  • Anyone who wants the page, the links on it, the form on it and the contact list it fills to live in one workspace.
  • Anyone who edits where a button points mid-campaign: the short code and its click history survive the edit.
  • Anyone who wants the same destination counted separately per placement, so a bio tap and a story tap do not become one number.
  • Anyone who wants a lead to end as a contact record with an email or an Instagram handle attached, not as a click.
  • Anyone who would rather drive the workspace from a CLI or an agent than from a dashboard, on the plans that include it.

Better served by Linktree

  • Creators who want to sell digital products or courses from the page itself, with Stripe checkout and instant delivery, in the countries Linktree supports.source 14
  • Creators whose audience is spread across platforms and who want the same account to schedule and auto-post to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and YouTube Shorts.source 11
  • Anyone running several pages or working as a team: several Linktrees under one login, admins on Pro and Premium, and Workspaces (in beta for a limited group) with Manager and Member roles and combined insights.source 19source 20source 21

the real difference

Where the two part ways.

big is machines that hand off: a comment becomes a DM, the DM carries a tracked link, the link opens a form, the form fills a contact you own.

The page is a station, not the destination

With Linktree
Linktree's own guidance is to add the linktr.ee URL to every platform where the audience is, so the page is where traffic arrives. Its Instagram auto-reply also answers a comment with a DM carrying a link, which opens the Linktree with that link highlighted or, on Starter and above, skips the page and goes straight to the destination, within a monthly DM limit set by the plan.source 1source 9
With big
In big the page sits inside the chain the rest of the product runs: a comment triggers an auto-DM, the DM carries a tracked link, the link opens a form, the form fills a contact record. The page is one of those steps rather than the thing everything else points at.
Best for
Creators who want the conversation that starts under a post to end on a contact record they own, with the DM, the click and the form answer tied together.

Every button on the page is a real short link

With Linktree
Clicks on a Linktree are counted in Insights, which reports total and unique clicks and, on Pro and Premium, lists links from most to least clicked. Attribution in outside analytics tools rests on UTM parameters, a Pro and Premium setting that tags links with Medium "Social" and Source "Linktree" by default. Tr.ee short links are a separate shortener, made from a link's Share menu or on the Tr.ee site.source 6source 15source 16
With big
Saving a link block mints a workspace short link, so each button has its own code, its own click ledger and its own numbers. Changing where a button points retargets that same code, so the history stays attached to the button rather than restarting.
Best for
Anyone who swaps a destination mid-campaign and needs last month's clicks and this month's to be the same series.

The tap can end in a contact, not a page view

With Linktree
A Contact Form on the page puts submissions on the Audience page, exportable as CSV on every plan, and syncs them to Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Kit, Beehiiv or Google Sheets on Pro and Premium. The Terms make the creator responsible for making sure that data collection complies with the law, and separately state that data the platform generates from use is owned by Linktree.source 17source 18
With big
A form block puts one of the workspace's own branching forms on the page, and an answer carrying an email or an Instagram handle becomes a contact record in the same workspace, tagged and reachable by the automations that already run there.
Best for
Creators building a list they intend to message later rather than an audience they can only reach through the platform.

choose Linktree if

Where Linktree is the right answer.

These are things big does not do. If one of them is the job you are hiring a tool for, stop here and buy theirs.

Sell from the page itself

What they do
Linktree lets a creator sell digital products and courses directly from the page through Stripe checkout, priced from $1.00 to $10,000 USD, with the buyer getting the download straight after payment and a receipt by email, in the 35 countries its guide lists. The pricing page lists a 9% fee on Starter and 0% on Premium, and Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 per purchase on every plan.source 14source 2source 22
Where big stands
big has no storefront. It does not sell a product, take a payment or host a checkout, so a creator selling from the page itself needs something else to sell with, and big links to it.
Best for
Creators selling from the page itself rather than linking out to a store.

A page with no platform badge

What they do
On Pro and Premium a toggle removes the Linktree footer from the page, and another hides the Linktree logo from its QR code, where the creator can add their own. The Pro plan card on the pricing page lists "Remove Linktree branding".source 12source 2
Where big stands
Every big page carries a badge saying it was made with big, on every plan, including the paid ones. There is no tier that removes it.
Best for
Creators who need a page with no platform badge on it.

Posting on six platforms, not one

What they do
Plann by Linktree schedules and auto-posts to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and YouTube Shorts, and can cross-post one piece of content to several of them at once. The pricing page lists social media scheduling on the Premium plan.source 11source 2
Where big stands
big automates one channel. A creator whose audience is on several platforms is automating only the Instagram part of it here.
Best for
Creators whose audience is spread across several platforms.

how each one connects

How each one connects.

What each product does to reach Instagram, stated for both. Every line in the right-hand column cites a page of theirs, so none of it has to be taken on trust from a page that sells the other one.

big

  • big sends every reply and DM through the official Instagram API from Meta.
  • big never asks for an Instagram password and never operates a bot that pretends to be the creator.
  • There is no scraping and no browser automation.
  • Contacts captured through big belong to the creator, not to big Followers belong to the platform; the contact list does not.

Linktree

  • States it is compliant with the GDPR, with a GDPR addendum to its policies and a Data Subject Access Request form for asking how data is handled or having it transferred or deleted.source 23
  • The Privacy Notice lists industry-standard encryption, firewalls, intrusion detection, logging, monitoring and regular audits, uses standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions for transfers abroad, and names data protection representatives in the EU and the UK.source 8
  • The Trust Center publishes a Data Processing Addendum, a public bug bounty, a transparency report and a data request form.source 24
  • Accounts can turn on multi-factor authentication with an authenticator app, or by SMS in the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom and Canada.source 25

what each costs

Price, with the meter stated.

big's figures come straight from its plan catalogue. Theirs come from their own pricing page on the date below. Where the two products meter different things, the row says so rather than leaving you to assume they line up.

Paid plans, billed monthly

big

$10 to $100

per month

Linktree

$8 to $35source 2

per month billed monthly: Starter $8, Pro $15, Premium $35

Linktree meters features and sales rather than automation volume: Instagram auto-replies are capped at 1,000 DMs a month on Free, 1,500 on Starter and 2,500 on Pro, unlimited on Premium, and a sale on the page carries a Linktree fee the pricing page lists as 9% on Starter and 0% on Premium, plus Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30 per purchase. big counts automation steps per week and has no checkout, so no sales fee applies. The two are not billed on the same unit.

Paid plans, billed annually

big

$6.90 to $66.90

per month billed annually

Linktree

$6 to $30source 2

per month billed annually: Starter $6, Pro $12, Premium $30

The pricing page shows annual prices by default and states the monthly-billed price on each card. The auto-reply DM limits reset each month on either billing, and sales fees apply per purchase. A Free plan and an Agency or Enterprise option are also offered. big has no sales fee; its budget is automation steps per week.

questions

Questions about big and Linktree.

What does a big link in bio page look like?

It is a public page at https://itsjustbig.com/t/ plus a handle you choose, built from five kinds of block: link buttons, a form, social icons, an image or video, and text headers. The handle is unique across big and is released the moment you rename it.

Can I change how the page looks?

Yes. Start from a preset, then set the accent color, the font, the button shape and fill, the avatar shape, and a background that can be a color, an image, a gif or a looping video, with a separate background for phone screens if you want one. Text color is worked out from the background so a theme cannot end up unreadable.

Does big count clicks on the links on my page?

Yes. Every link button is a workspace short link with its own code, so the page reports its views, the clicks on each button and the views of each form on it, with bot traffic excluded.

What happens to a link's clicks if I change where it points?

Nothing is lost. Saving a new destination retargets the same code rather than minting a new one, so the button keeps the clicks it already had.

Can I collect emails from the page?

Yes. A form block puts one of your own forms on the page, and an answer that includes an email address or an Instagram handle becomes a contact record in your workspace. Contacts captured through big belong to you.

Can I use my own domain for the page?

No. A big page is served at https://itsjustbig.com/t/ plus your handle, and there is no way to put your own domain in front of it today.

Can I remove big's badge from the page?

No. Every published page carries a sticky badge saying it was made with big, and no plan removes it.

Can I sell something directly from the page?

No. big does not take payments or host a checkout. You can link out to wherever you sell, and that link is tracked like any other.

Can I use big today?

Not yet. big is pre-launch and access is by waitlist, so a page you build today goes live when your workspace does.
